Robinhood UK launches futures trading, giving retail traders access to 40+ CME products with low fees and real-time data.
Key Points:
US neobroker Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) has launched futures trading for its UK customers through its FCA-regulated arm, Robinhood U.K. Ltd. So, the new service allows users to trade index, energy, metals, and foreign exchange futures directly on the Robinhood app and Robinhood Legend, the company’s advanced desktop platform.
UK clients can now access over 40 CME Group futures products, including contracts on the S&P 500, oil, and gold, with low fees, real-time market data, and one-tap ladder execution. Robinhood plans to roll out futures trading to eligible customers over the coming weeks, charging $0.75 per contract, while maintaining free real-time data. Regulatory and exchange fees will still apply.
Earlier this year, Robinhood UK expanded its offerings by adding options trading, as part of its strategy to build a full suite of tools for active traders.
“In the UK, futures trading has traditionally been seen as the preserve of institutional investors,” said Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood UK. “Today, we start changing that. We’re introducing futures trading with an intuitive mobile experience, smarter tools, education, insights, and some of the lowest fees in the industry.”
Julie Winkler, Chief Commercial Officer at CME Group, welcomed the partnership. “Futures offer retail traders a fully transparent, cost-effective way to participate in some of the most liquid markets in the world,” she said. “We are pleased to work with Robinhood to educate and empower their UK customers to access these new opportunities.”
Robinhood stated that the launch marks another milestone in its mission to become the leading platform for active traders globally. The addition also complements Robinhood’s growing product lineup for UK users, which now includes options trading and Robinhood Legend, its desktop platform designed for advanced investors.
