Saxo powers Chartered Investment Flow AMC platform, enabling asset managers to complete onboarding in just five days across key markets.

Key Points:

  • Chartered Investment integrates Saxo into its Flow AMC module, cutting asset manager onboarding to five days.
  • The deal targets Singapore and Switzerland, where Saxo holds active regulatory licenses in both markets.

Chartered Investment has integrated Saxo‘s brokerage infrastructure into its digital platform, the two companies announced on Wednesday. Moreover, Asset managers issuing actively managed certificates through the new Flow AMC module can now complete onboarding within five days, according to both firms.

An AMC wraps a discretionary investment strategy inside a note rather than a fund structure, sparing the manager the cost and setup time that a conventional fund launch typically requires. Chartered Investment, founded in 2013 and issuer of its first AMC in 2016, already runs AMCs through Interactive Brokers with assets approaching EUR 1 billion. The Saxo integration adds a second brokerage relationship to that infrastructure.

Saxo Powers Chartered Investment Flow AMC in Five Days

Through Flow AMC, asset managers gain access to a single Saxo account with direct market access across global markets and asset classes. Chartered Investment retains responsibility for structuring, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle management, while Saxo provides the underlying execution and trading infrastructure.

That division of responsibilities mirrors how Saxo structures other institutional partnerships. The Danish bank currently powers more than 150 financial institutions and has actively sought partners to operate its platforms under their own brands, particularly following its 2024 strategy review of the Asian business.

Henrik Alsøe, global head of Saxo Institutional, said asset managers need a simpler and more efficient way to bring strategies to market. Daniel Maier, general manager at Chartered Investment, described Flow AMC as bringing the efficiency of modern brokerage infrastructure to the AMC market.

Singapore and Switzerland Drive Initial Demand

Both companies tied the launch to growing AMC demand in Singapore and Switzerland. Saxo holds a capital markets services license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and a banking license in Switzerland, giving it a regulated foundation in both markets the partnership targets. Furthermore, Singapore became Saxo‘s regional base after it closed its Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, and the bank added a premium tier for accredited investors there in May.

For Saxo, the Chartered Investment deal arrives approximately one month after the bank reported an 18% year-on-year rise in first-half profit, with client assets reaching EUR 153 billion.

Brokers Have Been Entering the Certificate Space

The structured product and certificate market has attracted several established brokers in recent years. In Switzerland, Swissquote began issuing structured products through Leonteq’s white-label platform in 2022 under its own Yield Booster brand. Saxo itself packaged external strategies as far back as 2016, when it launched SaxoSelect, an ETF portfolio service developed with BlackRock. Interactive Brokers has served as Chartered Investment’s primary trading partner for more than a decade, making Saxo the second major brokerage relationship the firm has built into its platform.

Beyond its current European and Singapore focus, Chartered Investment is exploring expansion into South America and South Africa as it looks to extend the AMC model into new regional markets.
