XTB Acquires ISA License in The UK, New Products Planned for Autumn

XTB has taken a significant stride into the lucrative UK market by securing an Individual Savings Accounts (ISA) license. Moreover, this move grants the company access to a market valued at £400 billion and marks its expansion beyond its traditional offerings of Contract for Difference (CFD) products.

Following the announcement of its intention to enter the UK ISA market just under three months ago, XTB has swiftly navigated regulatory hurdles to become an authorized manager capable of offering retail investment products in the UK. Having achieved this milestone, the company is ready to launch its first ISA products to British investors by the autumn of this year.

The decision to venture into the ISA market underscores XTB‘s strategic objective of diversifying its portfolio and exploring new avenues for growth. Last year’s February earnings conference disclosed the expansion initiative. XTB CEO Omar Arnaout outlined the company’s ambition to penetrate the tax-exempt investment sector following its success in Poland.

The UK ISA market represents a substantial opportunity, serving approximately 27 million individuals with assets totaling £400 billion in stocks and share savings accounts. Under the ISA scheme, British citizens can invest up to £20,000 annually without tax obligations, making it an attractive prospect for investors and financial service providers.

Strategic Growth: XTB’s Diversification Beyond CFDs

Joshua Raymond, Managing Director at XTB UK, commented on the development and expressed optimism about the company’s forthcoming ISA offerings.”In line with our commitment to expanding our investment and savings offerings, I’m happy to announce HMRC’s approval of our ISA licensing application,” he said. XTB anticipates launching these products to UK clients by the third quarter of this year.

The expansion into the ISA market aligns with XTB‘s overarching goal of expanding its customer base and diversifying its revenue streams. The UK branch has reported a substantial rise in active clients in recent years, and this move to offer ISA products is expected to drive additional growth and strengthen XTB’s position in the UK fintech landscape.

While XTB‘s operations in the UK generated a revenue of £4.7 million in 2023, the entry into the ISA market is poised to catalyze substantial financial gains for the company. Raymond highlighted the immense potential of the UK ISA market, with 12 million new subscriptions annually, positioning it as a pivotal milestone in XTB‘s product rollout strategy.

In addition to its UK expansion, XTB has demonstrated a global growth trajectory with the recent acquisition of Indonesian broker Eagle Capital Futures. This strategic move further strengthens XTB‘s foothold in the Asian market, positioning it as a critical player in the region’s financial landscape.

As XTB continues to expand its product offerings and geographical presence, acquiring the ISA license in the UK marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards becoming the leading player in the global fintech arena. With new products on the horizon and a steadfast commitment to innovation, XTB stands poised for continued success in the dynamic world of financial services.
